Seattle 2025

Seattle was a city I had long associated only with being the birthplace of my idol, Jimi Hendrix, and it was never part of my personal top three “must-visit” destinations. It simply hadn’t been on my radar in the same way as other major U.S. cities.

During our U.S. West Coast road trip toward Canada, however, Seattle naturally became one of our stops—and it quickly turned into one of the most memorable surprises of the journey. From the very first moments, the city revealed a vibrant energy that immediately reminded me of New York City. There is constant movement, creativity, and life in the streets, giving Seattle the unmistakable pulse of a true metropolis.

What makes Seattle especially fascinating is its unique setting. A major city located directly on the water always has a special atmosphere, but here it feels particularly intense. The mix of modern architecture, historic neighborhoods, and ever-changing light reflected by the water creates countless visual impressions—perfect for photography and exploration alike.

At the same time, nature is never far away. Within a short drive, you find yourself surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Mount Rainier National Park, where snow-capped peaks, forests, and open skies offer a striking contrast to the urban environment. And just as easily, you can cross the border and reach Vancouver, adding an international dimension to the experience.

This close connection between city life, wilderness, and international travel is what makes Seattle so special. The constant shift between urban energy and natural calm creates a dynamic that feels both inspiring and grounding at the same time.
